Introducing all new WHITE COPPRclay featuring a silvery-gray color after firing that can be oxidized, textured or highly polished to a bright shine. Like other metal clays, WHITE COPPRclay provides an incredible artistic range. And, because it is a base metal (composed of copper and nickel), it is also so economical that you can use it for large pieces–even sculptures–very affordably!
WHITE COPPRclay can be pinched, rolled, sculpted, cut or manipulated any way you like. Then fire it, and the binder burns away, leaving a solid copper/nickel object. Create jewelry, jewelry components, or custom-crafted specialized tools. You can texture it, add color with oxidizers or patinas, or simply polish it to a bright white shine.
Use the unique color WHITE COPPRclay to add contrast to your metal clay jewelry designs and hollowware creations: Create accent pieces and, after firing, partner white copper with other metal components or, layer unfired WHITE COPPRclay with original COPPRclay™ to create mokume gane-like woodgrain patterns.
It requires a simple 2 phase firing schedule and opens up a whole new world of design possibilities. Phase one–ramp at 500°F/hour to 600°F (320°C) and hold for 10 minutes; phase two–ramp at full speed to 1,850°F (1,010°C) and hold for 2 hours (total firing time, including ramp-time, will be just over 4 hours).
WHITE COPPRclay cannot be torch-fired; it must be fired in a firing pan, surrounded by activated carbon, inside a kiln.
