The firing process is one of the most exciting parts of working with Metal Clay. It’s where your creations transform from clay into real metal! Depending on the type of Metal Clay, you can fire yours by Torch or Kiln. There are many different aspects that go into heating Metal Clay such as using the right temperature and right length of time. At the Cool Tools Learning Center you will find really helpful videos, such as how to co-fire sterling silver with silver prep. Silver clay can be fused directly to sterling silver in the kiln. It’s easy to do, but requires that you first prepare the surface of the sterling silver to receive the silver clay.
